The Roma St Parklands is used by many cosplaying groups as a meet-up area. Often they invite photographers along to shoot them. I had a spare hour last Sunday and popped in to see who was there and scored a delightful collection of photos with a great bunch of people.
Cosplayers are such awesome people to shoot – their costumes are just so out there! Recently we had a mini cosplay shoot afternoon for three customers keen to get their creations recorded for entry into various competitions and for posterity sake.
While the actual shoot was a white background (high key) studio shoot we then took the three of them out on the road and into some cool locations where we were able to get some great shots. Just an extra benefit at no extra cost!
Early May saw a whole bunch of cosplayers and several photographers descending on Roma St Parklands here in Brisbane to do some photography in cool surroundings.
Here are some of the photos I got.
We are doing cosplay shoots on special for $99 at the moment – thats a 30 minute session with up to three costume changes, 10 edited images and for a limited time 2 free prints. Contact us to book your shoot now.
After Supanova I had some costumes I had hired from The Vault which i decided to put to good use and called an impromptu cosplay shoot with some friends. Rachel, Allison and Bridget helped out – along with Jadeen, Erin and Mercedes.
The result is a mashup of Jill Valentine, and Egyptian Naruto Barbarian Princess and a Vampire. We followed it up with some dance jumps and poses.
As sponsors we provided photobooth photography for patrons to donate and receive a free photo of themselves with their favourite cosplay characters. We also had some roaming photographers getting some shots. Most of the work though was directly in the booth.
