The Gold Coast Supanova – held at the Convention Centre 20 and 21 April 2013 – is a celebration of all things pop, cosplay, anime, sci-fi and TV. This year Dreamcoat Photography tamed up with the Drawn 2 Life cosplay team to raise funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research. We ran a photo booth for them and also had a few random shots. We had several of the crew working today, Rohan, Ben, Miranda and two Sarahs all pitched in handing out flyers, directing traffic at the booth, dressing in costume and posing and of course shooting the action.
All the pics from the event can be found on my Flickr stream Supanova Gold Coast 2013 Set. I have also added some to Facebook and theres a select few below.
Samples can be downloaded for personal use from Flickr or tagged in Facebook. Please credit Dreamcoat Photography. If you want full size edited versions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
This was a wedding we had waited a long time for. Not just clients but very special friends, Eddie and Linda tied the knot in a simple but very beautiful beach side ceremony at Cabarita Beach in NSW. We covered the whole day from the dressing and makeup, pre wedding photos with all 8 of Linda’s children, the wedding and post wedding afternoon tea and then some beautiful beachside couple shots.
The reception was a fortnight later and we covered that also.
As sponsors we provided photobooth photography for patrons to donate and receive a free photo of themselves with their favourite cosplay characters. We also had some roaming photographers getting some shots. Most of the work though was directly in the booth.
As long standing supporters and sponsors of the Pine Rivers Musical Association (PRIMA) we once again put together the promo shoot for their latest musical endeavour. This time they are running a 60’s themed Theatre Restaurant. So we took the opportunity to explore the zany hippy culture and the radical mod rock culture a little (with some artistic license liberally applied).
The show dates are May 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25. Tickets haven’t been released yet but you can join the event on Facebook and get yours as soon as they come out.
When ultra tail runners Jeff and Natalie met through their running club sparks flew. Ok they were slow but eventually after Jeff ran an ultra as motivation to ask Natalie out and from then on it was just a matter of time.
And as I shoot them a lot out in the bush running ultra events (last one was 160km) they asked me to shoot the wedding also.
Last weekend they tied the know in front of immediate family in a very intimate and beautiful setting of the lush tropical rainforest of Mt Glorious.
We love shooting weddings and set up packages to suit all wedding types, from full service all day affairs through to small events like this one.
Tim Miller at Dreamcoat Photography provided a creative, fun, professional photo shoot with some amazing results and blew away all expectations I had.
These days, anyone with a camera calls themselves a photographer but its the years of experience dealing with every situation possible that makes a true artist. I had some very specific requirements for my photo shoot that Tim absolutely nailed, as well as bringing many of his own amazing ideas to the table.
The turnaround on finished photos was super fast - I was looking at some early proofs on my phone before I had even arrived home from the photoshoot!! Amazing results and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dreamcoat Photography to anyone looking for studio or location based photos. Tim is your man.
