I lost a good friend and mentor last month. Ian Hodge went to be with his maker after complications from surgery after a fall. He was a very true friend. He was also at various times my business associate, boss, colleague and employee.
I went through my photos and found only a few of him. They were taken one day at work when we had a client come for some profile pics and Ian was there so I did some updated ones of him also. I also have some screen grabs from videos taken when we were presenting together one time.
This is a gentle reminder to make sure you have nice photos of your loved ones before they leave. Contact us now to book a shoot.
This video is a short explanation by Ian of our our relationship from one of those seminars.
We often do studio shoots for people – just a white or black background and some high quality lighting and camera gear to create great photos. Here are some recent shots.
Solveig is a top runner – and by top I mean she gets podiums! I have taken a lot of running photos of her over the years but this time she came to us for a family shoot with partner John and the kids.
We had a fantastic makeup session and then some lovely natural shots posed around her house with her daughter Bella. Then we headed to the park and met John and his kids and parents there for the family pics. We couldn’t resist some running and jumping photos of course!
Local musician Eugene Harpsnake plays the harp, guitar and foot drums – he also keeps snakes! We have shot his snakes before and so jumped at the chance to shoot them again when he needed some photos for promotional material. We also were able to include Trudii who wanted to overcome a fear of snakes and get some nice glamour images with the snakes. We also managed to get Eugene’s wife and little baby into a nice family photo and Trudii’s daughter and friend also held snakes for the first time.
Sometimes a quick simple shot is the best way to capture a moment in time. As a photographer it seems we often forget to do our own family photos. A recent time spent with one of the Grandads was opportunity for an impromptu self timed shot out the front of the house.
If you want simple portraits like these we can do a very good price. Let us know when and where and we can turn up to your birthday or family gathering function and just create a nice shot for your memories.
Misty wanted to surprise her husband with some updated family photos for his birthday present. So unbeknownst to him we rocked up with makeup artist in tow to get them organised to shoot. The weather was threatening to break so we were under time pressure. Hubby hit the shower and spruced up while Misty had her makeup done and we settled the camera shy girls by taking photos of them in an old mirror.
Then it was off to the park for some casual settings under trees and on a bridge. Then the rain smashed down just as we finished!
Beautiful casual family photos that capture your family as they just hang out together are our specialty – book today!
As a photographer in need of more technical lighting training, I went to Dreamcoat Photography as I knew Tim had a lot of back ground knowledge and technical expertise on this subject.
Going to Tim was fun and a really good way of learning the more advanced side of lighting and the techniques of how to set it up. He also explained how it all works to help with getting you the most out of what you are after.
Thank you Tim and Dreamcoat Photography
