We love Supanova! The annual pop culture convention is a fantastic time of crazy costumes, wonderful people and fun. We always love to shoot candids of the crowd and people as well as posed images for those who catch our eye. In addition this year we also shot a spread for the DC  Bombshells Calendar. This will be showcased in a separate blog post.

The Abbey Medieval Festival situated just north of Brisbane is Queensland’s premier medieval re-enactment event. Tens of thousands of the paying public turn up to see and interact with the re-enactors from vast periods of time and different people groups.

From gypsies to romans to Vikings to priests and monks, lords and ladies, peasants and jesters there is every type of person you can think of and more. There is drinking, jousting, jesting, archery, fighting and more.

As one of the official photography team this year Dreamcoat Photography gets access to areas the public cant go as well as opportunities for some amazing shots.

All our images are for sale at our realistic prices. All images in the sample galleries are low quality low res images with a large watermark. All our sold photos are edited full size with a small discreet watermark in the bottom left or right corner and are suitable for personal use and social media. We are also able to supply watermark free unrestricted licence stock images for web and commercial use.

We do things a little differently from other companies.

• We don’t have a shopping cart because we don’t mass produce images.
• We individually edit every photo we sell.
• We shoot high resolution large images – suitable for you to print A3 size or more.
• We have lots of happy customers who keep coming back for more
• We specialise in all sorts of event photography  in Brisbane and South East Queensland

So you have to tell us one of two things in an email. Either say please sell me all my photos - here's a picture so you know who I am, OR find just the ones you want to buy and let us know the file numbers for each image.

We then send you a payment link for secure credit card payment and away we go. We supply bulk images via a drop box download link and individual ones we email.

Natasha Romanov - code name Black Widow is a member of the Avengers team. She was born in Russia, where she received her training at a very young age, before being recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. She is played by Scarlett Johansson in the films Iron Man 2, and The Avengers. While at Supanova we discovered her capturing Lex Luthor and just being generally awesome!

Its tough being the bad guy – but Lex Luthor makes a career out of it – we shot him hard at work overseeing his minions and ensuring that chaos and mayhem continued unabated at the Gold Coast Supanova. Eventually however he got locked up and did some hard jail time. Finally he convinced some gullible girls to bust him and and secure his freedom and he made good his escape through the underground car park.

We always love going to shoot at the Supanova Pop Culture events. Lots of people, lots of costumes and lots of nerdiness. Right up our alley.

this year the 2014 Gold Coast Supanova event was awesome – we spent both days there shooting some clients and also the general public – mostly candid but sometimes posed.

We recently did a cosplay shoot for a young Vocaloid fan – wearing her Kagamine Rin Cosplay.

We used the Japanese Gardens in the Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens for the shoot. Amy was very enthusiastic and enjoyed working with us a lot – she will be booking more shoots in the future.

LARP or Live Action Role Play is cosplay on speed, real life dungeons and dragons, fantasy meets reality and a heck of a lot of fun!

Vantacor is a fantasy land and the Heroes Odyssey Inc group battles Orcs, undead and other creatures there every few months.

Dreamcoat Photography got right into the action shooting the last event, and are looking forward to future events as well.

We like to make our images as affordable as possible. We publish small images with a big watermark to Facebook for easy sharing and tagging. However full high res photos with a small discreet watermark in the corner are available for a very realistic price. Note these prices are for a digital image that can not be edited or used commercially but may be displayed on personal pages, in social media etc as is.
