We recently put together a Dr Who themed Black Milk Shoot. Black Milk Clothing is an awesome brand for nerds and geeks, with their clothing featuring sci-fi fantasy and other alternative genres imagery. We are lucky enough to have a Dalek Builder in our street so we borrowed 2 Daleks for a shoot. As we live in a cul-de-sac we were able to utilise the street for the shoot, and half of the neighbours joined in – some of them also getting shots!
Here are some of the images.
If you would be interested in a similar shoot, or hiring the Daleks to appear at your event we can arrange that for you – just get in contact now!
The 2015 Brisbane Oz Comic Con was a huge two day event. Because of other commitments we were only able to be there for a few hours on one day, but we made the most of it with over 100 photos of gorgeous cosplayers.

The Abbey Medieval Festival situated just north of Brisbane is Queensland’s premier medieval re-enactment event. Tens of thousands of the paying public turn up to see and interact with the re-enactors from vast periods of time and different people groups.
From gypsies to romans to Vikings to priests and monks, lords and ladies, peasants and jesters there is every type of person you can think of and more. There is drinking, jousting, jesting, archery, fighting and more.
However we appreciate that sometimes people would like a high res edited photo. We offer an editing service at a realistic price. All images in the sample galleries are low quality low res images with a large watermark. All our sold photos are edited full size with a small discreet watermark in the bottom left or right corner and are suitable for personal use and social media.

So you have to tell us one of two things in an email. Either say please sell me all my photos - here's a picture so you know who I am, OR find just the ones you want to buy and let us know the file numbers for each image.
We love gaming! Tim has been a gamer since 1983 – and most of our staff play games as well. So when the opportunity came to photograph the Button Smash event (basically console fighting games – think Street Fighter and Tekken) incorporating a cosplay competition we jumped at it.
Unfortunately we couldn’t be there Saturday and left Sunday after the cosplay competiton had finished. But we did have the opportunity to get in a bunch of photos of the guys and gals mashing buttons and joysticks as they competed for titles! and the cosplayers were great also.
Shooting people is fun. and Shooting people in weird situations is even more fun. A recent group cosplay shoot here in Brisbane was an opportunity to do something a little different. We shoot a lot of cosplay so decided to do shoot some ballerina poses in different locations – and just for fun throw in some cosplay – in the form of Death – the grim reaper complete with scythe in the background!
The locations we utilised were the Powerhouse Museum in Brisbane and Fort Lytton where we had access to an old Autoclave unit used for sterilising things in the quarantine days.
Here are some of the shots – including a fun one where Ben and his fiance posed together.
When the DC Bombshells contacted us to shoot their calendar for Supanova 2015 we were pretty excited. Along with a couple of other photographers we created the shoot to show case each of the characters and provide high quality edited images for print. In all we have 7 of the 12 images in the calendar. The calendars were created and printed to raise funds for Look Good Feel Better.
We love Supanova! The annual pop culture convention is a fantastic time of crazy costumes, wonderful people and fun. We always love to shoot candids of the crowd and people as well as posed images for those who catch our eye. In addition this year we also shot a spread for the DC Bombshells Calendar. This will be showcased in a separate blog post.
All the unedited sample images are on Facebook in these galleries:
Working with the team from Dreamcoat photography was an absolute pleasure. From the very first initial meeting I knew we were going to have fun. Tim and Judith understood exactly what direction we were wanting to go in and even gave us some excellent ideas. The level of professionalism and organisation was second to none, and I loved that I could contact them anytime with even the strangest questions.
The day itself is still a blur, but I remember the fun we had achieving some of our unique shots, and memories that will last a lifetime. We felt so relaxed that it was more like being in the company of friends, and many laughs were had along the way.
Thank you so much for being a part of our special day and capturing every special moment.
