A lovely Sunday afternoon was spent down at the Scarborough foreshore back in April with the delightful Witcher family and their dogs. One of the boys was back in Oz briefly and the family thought this would be a good time to get pics together. Below is a sample of the lovely foreshore with views to the Glasshouse Mountains across the bay - and of course the Witchers.
Must remember to pack insect repellent in my shoot kit. Mozzies were not our friends on the shoot down at Red Beach Bribie Island.
The gorgeous sunset and calm waters were. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. If you want photos like this then check out the pricing for our glamour shoots.
What an epic shoot. I think I am never ever organising such an insane shoot again! Not that it wasn't fun, but I've learnt my lesson - too many people to shoot in one day. We had 13 ladies booked and we ended up taking 12 hours to do the whole thing from leave in the morning to setup the set, and then shoot everybody and then go home. And then the editing! I think I've been editing for ever!
I have also been educated in many of the finer technical aspects of Chinese Pole, aerial acrobatics let me tell you. Don't be fooled, these pictures look effortless but the ladies were working really hard to pull them off and there was a lot of sweat and chalk was being applied liberally to thighs and hands. Having the gym instructor barking instructions at the ladies was also funny as they corrected the poses to show the correct technical aspects.
What Pole Gym is NOT is the sort of pole dancing you might see in a strip club. It is actually nothing to do with that at all. It is actually the acrobatic extension of gymnastics rope, silks and aerial hoop work. This can be frustrating for people to understand.
I have shown two types of photos below. Some are the technical pole positions - I haven't attempted to name them for fear of getting them wrong, the have names like superman, hanging basket, scorpion etc. There are also some acrobatic poses using a chair as a prop. Secondly i have included some of the portrait style photos we produced for most of the ladies.
I was also excited to have one of the ladies produce large scale mounted images for her wall at home.
November 2010 was a very busy month with a lot of photo-shoots and a wedding. One of our favourite shoots was for the launch of a new fashion label called Adonai Clothing. They don't have a website yet, just a Facebook page, but check out the quality of the gear! I think we did a good job of capturing the essence of beach, fun and funky clothing. View the Adonai clothing gallery.
The Live to Shine festival was put together by a bunch of people but organised by our friend Jana from Autumn Sun. she asked us to come and shoot and shoot we did. There are over 1500 photos in the various sub galleries from the event.
Check out the bands, the clowns and other artists.
Here are some of my favourite photos from the night.

Helen Sattler of www.frockfashion.com.au had a huge vintage clothing collection she was selling and invited the Dreamcoat crew to come and shoot it for her. Combining this with the need to produce some great couple shots for gaffer extraordinaire James and his lovely wife Beck we trundled up to Caloundra on a hot sunny afternoon to get the job done. On arrival Helen had cleared the studio space and made lots of room to shoot bot surprise surprise, had two massive studio lights and a large gridded modifier. Trev Pedler came along for the shoot and brought his soft box and so we setup 3 lights onto the rear wall and the two modified lights for a classic Rembrandt lighting style and proceeded to shoot high key vintage fashion.
Crew were:
Jess - makeup
Rachel - apprentice photographer and model
Maddie - model
Kim - model
Ben - photographer and gaffer
James - gaffer and model
Beck - model
Trev - photographer
Tim - photographer
Helen - stylist and clothing - her props were cool too
